Symptoms and pain relieve from internal hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids can go unnoticed for a long period of time and then expose themselves unexpectedly without prior warning. The signs of severe hemorrhoids are usually blood that shows after a bowel movement and is apparent on toilet paper and in toilet and/or on inner clothing.

A hemorrhoid is a vein that becomes twisted due to pressure placed on it by being constipated, overweight and sometimes they can be due to being pregnant. Whether inside or outside of the body the hemorrhoids are the same. A visit to your physician maybe necessary if you have external hemorrhoids and they are extremely painful and unbearable.

There are ways to treat and prevent hemorrhoids. Try a diet with more fiber and lose weight if needed. Avoiding constipation by keeping your body well hydrated is another great option. You can purchase a Sitz bath at your drug store and use this three to four times a day to relieve inflammation and swelling. This should only be done for around ten minutes at a time as excess moisture can irritate your hemorrhoids.

There are over the counter remedies at your pharmacy that will also help with the pain and swelling. Creams and medicated towelettes which are made especially for hemorrhoids have proven to be very beneficial in this situation. Perhaps you may want to ask your pharmacist for assistance in purchasing the proper medications for your hemorrhoids.

  • Thanks for the tip about the towelettes, maybe they aren’t the most effective long term solution but when I needed some quick relief on the go; they were a lifesaver!
